12th foundation day of Old Age Home held

As a part of the function, certificates of appreciation and cash awards were handed over to two staff of the home and gifts were also presented to the well-wishers of the home who have been supporting aid from time to time.

The Arubam Ingkhol’s Old Age Home on Saturday observed its 12th foundation day at its premises at Mongshangei Makha Leikai, Imphal West. It was organised by the managing committee of the All Manipur Senior Citizens’ Welfare Association (AMSCWA).

Social scientist Dhanabir Laishram, as chief guest, stated that serving mankind is superior than serving the almighty.

Pointing out that the literate and economically high families lack in caring for the old aged family members, he stressed the need for family politics among family members to maintain close bonds between them.

He also suggested that the elderly people need to have patience and refrain from arguments to adjust with the new generation.

The function was president by vice-president of the AMSCWA Th Chittaranjan Singh while the land donor of the Home, AK Ingobi attended as guest of honour. It was also attended by officers of 109th battalion CRPF and other well-wishers.
