Hundred fruits bearing plants were planted during a seven-day special camp organised by NSS Unit of NIELIT Imphal at the campus of NIELIT Imphal at Akampat, Imphal East from June 30 that concluded on Friday.
NIELIT Imphal stated in a release that the camp was inaugurated on June 30 in a ceremony.
It was attended by faculty of Department Physical Education and Sports Science, MU and NSS cell coordinator M Nodiyachand Singh as the chief guest.
NIELIT Imphal director N Debachandra Singh attended as president and ABVP State Joint Organisation secretary Bhagwat as the guest of honour, it added.
The closing function of the camp was held at the seminar hall of NIELIT Imphal on Friday, it stated.
The closing ceremony was attended by N Debachandra Singh and NIELIT Imphal NSS Unit programme officer H Rajendra Singh as the presidium members, it mentioned.
Speaking on the occasion, N Debachandra spoke on the importance of such camp during a student’s life, it informed.
H Rajendra highlighted the different activities organised during the camp including tree plantation, cleanliness drive, plastic free campaign, lecture on importance of voluntary blood donation, career counselling, and personality development, it stated.
