100 acres of poppy plants destroyed in Churachandpur

As a part of the War on Drugs campaign, a combined team destroyed around 100 acres of poppy plants at L Haopi Molen village upper side of Khuga Dam on Sunday.

In continuation of the poppy destruction drive under "War on Drugs", a combined team destroyed around 100 acres of poppy plants at L Haopi Molen village upper side of Khuga Dam on Sunday.

The combined team consisted of district police, Churachandpur; NAB; NCB; IRB; forest department assisted by a team of 35 personnel from 2nd IRB led by its commandant L Ajit Singh.

As a part of the War on Drugs campaign, Manipur police, along with IRB, forest department, NAB, supported by the villagers of the respective areas, have been continuing poppy destruction in various areas of hill districts of Manipur.

Earlier CM, N Biren Singh swore to eradicate poppy plants from the soil of Manipur by 2023 with the support from the public.
