A one-day workshop on "Yoga and healthy food habits - a way of life" was held on Saturday at Ideals Teachers' Training Academy at its premises in Sajiwa, Imphal East.
Speaking on the occasion as a resource person, yoga instructor of Gold's Gym, Galacy Khomdram, stated that yoga is a discipline to perfectly balance the soul, mind and body.
Clarifying the common misconception of yoga as only asana (meditation and exercise), she said yoga is a way of life to keep one’s whole-body functioning in an equilibrium level, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and attending a blissful state.
Pointing out that every classical text of yoga mentioned the human mind, he explained that every body’s functioning is correlated with the mind and yoga is a way to calm and relax one’s mind.
A yoga class was also being conducted prior to commencement of the workshop programme.
The programme was also attended by principal in-charge of ITTA Y Ranjan Singh, yoga instructor of ITTA Huirem Ashalata and chairman (governing body) of ITTA K Ronel Singh as presidium members.
