Manipur logs one more COVID-19 case, active tally rises to eight

A 57-year-old male from Chandel who recently returned from Dimapur, Nagaland, was found positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

Manipur on Thursday reported one new COVID-19 positive case, pushing the state's active tally to eight, official sources said.

The latest update by the state Health Services on Thursday showed 53 samples test were conducted and of it, the result of one came COVID-19 positive. The infected case is reported from Chandel district.

According to the Health department, a 57-year-old male from Chandel who returned from Dimapur, Nagaland recently, was found positive for the infection. Necessary containment measures have been taken up, it said.

On April 5, no new doses of COVID-19 were administered. So far, the total Covid-19 doses administered reached 3269105, according to the state immunization officer. Till date, a total of 1,37,775 people reported recovered from the disease in the state. And the recovery rate is 98.46 per cent.
