Singju Festival 2022 to include Children Solo Dance Contest

The Singju Festival 2022 will be held from December 28 to January 8 at Marjing Polo Complex, Heingang.

The Singju Festival Committee stated that the committee will be organising various competitions for children as part of the Singju Festival held from December 28 to January 8 at Marjing Polo Complex in Heingang.

A press release by the Singju Festival Committee stated that the committee will be organising various competitions including solo dance, painting, essay writing and singing competition for nonprofessional singers as part of the Singju Festival.

It informed that a Children’s Solo Dance Competition based on Manipuri films and contemporary songs will be held at 1 pm on December 30. Children who are 18 years of age or below can participate in the event by donning traditional attires, it added.

It continued that a Children’s Spot Painting Competition on the theme ‘Save Our Pony’ will be held at 1 pm on January 2, 2023 and children who are 12 years of age or below can participate in the competition, it mentioned.

It stated that at 1 pm on January 3, 2023, an Essay Writing Competition on the theme ‘Singjuga Manipuri Khunnai ga Leinaba Mari’ (Relation between Singju and the Manipuri society) will be held, adding that participants who are of 22 years of age or below can take part in the competition.

The prizes for the competitions will consist of Rs 5,000 for first place, Rs 3,000 for second place, Rs 2,000 for third place and Rs 500 for those who secured the fourth to tenth place along with a certificate each, it maintained.

It further stated that at 3 pm on January 6, a State Level Open Song Competition based on Manipuri film songs and contemporary songs, for nonprofessional singers will be held. The prizes for the open song competition will consist of Rs 10,000 for first place, Rs 7,000 for second place, Rs 5,000 for third place and Rs 2,000 for those who secured fourth to seventh place along with a certificate each, it continued.
