Mister International 2022 first runner-up Lukanand Kshetrmayum keen to work on mental health, drug abuse

The first runner-up of the 14th Mister International 2022, Lukanand Kshetrimayum was felicitated by RIMS on Tuesday

First runner-up of the 14th Mister International, 2022, Lukanand Kshetrimayum was felicitated at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal West Tuesday, jointly by the Department of Psychiatry, Department of Clinical Psychology, RIMS and Share and Care (SAC).

Speaking at the function, Lukanand pointed out that there is a common misconception that a pageant is mostly of glam and luxury, but it is beyond race and colour and is a step to becoming a role model for the society.

Sharing his hope to advocate projects for mental health and drug abuse, he said that he is looking forward to collaborating with RIMS and to work for the welfare of society, particularly on mental health and drug abuse. 

Stating that a word of encouragement is much needed in moving forward, he thanked the organiser and extended his gratitude for inviting him at RIMS.

Deputy director (Admn) RIMS Naorem Indrakumar said a person can achieve his or her goal only when a person is psychologically, emotionally and socially well. Lukanand has proved it and now he has become an aspiration for better career and sound mental health, he said.

Head of Psychiatry department, RIMS, Dr RK Lenin said that the state has huge cultural privileges as compared to others and lauded Lukanand for representing India at such an international level.

Expressing his eagerness to organise a youth convention with Lukanand, he called on the people of the state to work with the spirit of unity while encouraging and supporting one another in order to move forward to success.
