Slogans such as ‘Refill the vacant teachers’, ‘Make us study in peace’, ‘We don’t want violence’ were shouted during the protest.

Speaking to the media, a student protestor, Umar MK, stated that transferring of the history lecturer from the college when the DM University is facing shortages of teachers is an act of playing with the faith of the students.

Due to lack of teachers in the varsity, those recently selected research scholars who have not even started their course work are being utilized as teachers, he said.

Moreover, a bifurcation process of the teachers under the varsity are underway, he said, adding that transferring of a teacher during this period is unreasonable and it’s against the rules.
