The Paobitek High School was allegedly lacking punctual teachers and staff during an inspection drive conducted by a team of Federal Students’ Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) on Wednesday.
A team of FESOK led by vice president Ronald Kenedy Longjam conducted the inspection drive at Paobitek High School, stated a release. The school had eight teachers and one office assistant, along with 231 students, it added.
“During the drive, the team found that there were neither teachers nor any students present at the school even when it was 1 pm,” it stated. Paobitek High School is included in the second phase of the School Phagathanshi mission, it mentioned.
It stated that the headmaster in-charge arrived after a while and the team commenced the inspection. It continued that the teachers and staff were not punctual with few of them clocking in at around 2.30 pm, it stated.
It stated that the school with class I to class X only had three rooms and the school did not have a kitchen and toilet. The ‘mid-day meal’ scheme is non-existent in the school. It urged the ZEO and Education (S) department director and the authorities concerned to take up immediate action to develop the school for the wellbeing of the students.
