However, Director of Education(S), Manipur, L Nandakumar Singh stated in an order on Tuesday that all Zonal Education Officers under the Department of Education-Schools, Manipur are directed to inform all concerned about the postponement of the reopening of schools and take up necessary actions accordingly.

Following the ethnic class that broke out in the state on May 3, 2023, the state government had declared summer vacation till 31-06-2023 with the hope that the crisis would subsized by then and that classes could be resumed. However, with no end to the ongoing class, the reopening of schools was put on hold.
