Over 200 students who have cleared the Class X and XII examination conducted by CBSE, BOSEM and COHSEM were facilitated by the UNACCO Staff Association at the premises of UNACCO college, Khongman, Imphal East on Sunday.
On the occasion, UNACCO group chairman Ningombam Irabanta said the programme was organised to encourage the students.
UNACCO groups had earlier organised similar felicitation programmes only for passed out students of the school but it was later extended for the entire Khongman area, he said. To motivate and encourage the students UNACCO groups decided to facilitate all the passed out students from Ucheckon, Khongman and Bashikhong area, he added.
Irabanta said to provide more knowledge to the students of the school, facilities like audio-visual teaching are included with much experienced teachers.
He further said despite learning in schools and colleges, students should have a habit of self-study.
Editor of Sanaleibak news daily Hemanta Ningomba said the education system of Manipur is in a vulnerable condition due to the present turmoil. He mentioned that the coming examination conducted by Manipur University is to be conducted online and further questioned how quality education can be achieved with online examinations.
A person cannot succeed in life without competition, said Hemanta.
He appealed to the parents and guardians to perform career counseling, starting from the lower class so that a student can choose a rightful career in future. Hemanta further appealed to exempt students from curfew, bandhs and strikes.
Passed out students from various institutions were facilitated during the programme.
