The Manipuri Students’ Federation (MSF) on Tuesday extended Ningol Chakouba 2022 greetings to the Meetei community, especially married women, living in various parts of the world. The MSF also wished peace, prosperity and unity among the people of the state,
This Ningol Chakouba festival, which falls on October 27, the MSF in a release urged people to deviate from the trend of "gifting competition” which devalues the special occasion.
“MSF appealed to the people to not turn the beautiful and meaningful celebration into a materialistic and pretentious festival,” it added.
It recalled the history of the festival and appealed to the people to conserve and uphold true values of the celebration.
It also urged the people of the state to promote local business by opting for locally products while shopping for the festival.
