The Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) on Wednesday said that Moirangpurel High School was found with teachers abstaining from their duties during an inspection.
There were teachers who had been absent for more than a year, stated a release. The school committee had hired 11 guest teachers to run the school but the teachers appointed by the government were found to be abstaining from their duties, it mentioned. It questioned why the school committee and the headmaster had not taken any disciplinary action against them. It appealed to the education department to inspect the school and take action against the negligent teachers by putting them under suspension.
The student body has been conducting surveys at various educational institutions to also check if the educational benefits provided by the state government are delivered and there are no unnecessary expenditures spent by the students, it added.
