The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) on Friday proposed the introduction of more undergraduate programmes in Churachandpur Government College.
The proposed undergraduate programmes are Bachelor in Physical Education, Bachelor in Home Science, Bachelor in Psychology, Bachelor in Computer Science, Bachelor in Environmental Studies, Bachelor in Defence and Strategic Studies and Bachelor in Mass Communication and Journalism.
In this regard, a representation was submitted by the KSO general headquarter to the directorate of University and Higher Education recently.
It informed that the Churachandpur College has become one of the fastest government colleges to achieve ‘B Plus’ among various government colleges as per NAAC Assessment, 2022.
The college fraternity has brought a positive growth for the welfare of the college and in particular to the students' community respectively.
With reference to the progress and achievement, the representative requested the state government for conversion of the college campus as a Multi-disciplinary Learning Centre by introducing more undergraduate programmes in the college, as envisioned by the NEP 2020.
Stating that the proposed UGC recognised programmes are interdisciplinary subjects, which could pave a better way and greater benefit for the students of the district and the state in general, it requested the state government to grant their humble request in student interest.
