In a shicking revelation, of the 14 OBC candidates selected to be enrolled for 2022 Academic Session at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at Ramva Ukhrul-1, only two candidates have been found to be genuine while the remaining 12 candidates were not found to be genuine OBC candidates.
The facts reportedly came to light during an inspection carried out in three schools in UKhrul on Wednesday.
Sources told the Imphal Free Press that a team led by MES, assistant Inspector, Zonal Education office Ukhrul, Sunita Jajo in the presence of Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong and principal JNV Ramva on Wednesday conducted spot enquiry at three schools.
The inspection was carried out to check the genuineness of the OBC candidates selected to be enrolled for JNVST 2022 as per the eligibility guidelines of the CBSE/JVS.
The three schools are Asui Memorial School, Yaingangpokpi; Lambui High School and St Paul School, Lambui. As many as 14 OBC candidates were selected from the three schools.
Among the selected candidates, 11 were selected from Asui Memorial School, Yaingangpokpi, two candidates from Lambui high school and one candidate from St Paul school, Lambui. However, only two candidates from Asui Memorial School, Yaingangpokpi were reportedly found to be genuine.
Altogether, 28 OBC candidates were selected for JNV Ramva Ukhrul - one for the current academic session from different schools in Ukhrul and Kamjong district, sources further added.
The schools in Ukhrul and Kamjong district where OBC candidates have been selected are Asui Memorial School, Yaingangpokpi; Lambui High School, St Paul's School Lambui, Loushing Primary School, Kangkum Primary School and Children Training School.
It may be mentioned that MES, zonal education officer Ukhrul RK Makaohei Singh, in a notification on Tuesday issued directions to conduct spot inquiry to check the genuineness of the OBC candidates selected in the JNVST 2022 as per the eligibility guidelines of CBSE/JVS in the following three schools namely Asui Memorial School, Yaingangpokpi; Lambui High School and St Paul's School, Lambui.
The copy of the notification was also sent to principal JNV Ukhrul -1 and president Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong.
Of the total 28 OBC candidates selected for JNVST 2022, 14 candidates each were selected from Ukhrul and Kamjong district.
