Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Sandumba Achouba Umathel Kakching District on Thursday celebrated the 3rd anniversary of NEP 2020 at the administrative block of the Vidyalaya.
Zonal Education Officer of Kakching Yengkhom Achouba, Sub Divisional Officer Waikhong Takhellambam Millikan and JNV principal Moirangthem Nabamani attended the event as presidium members. Teachers and students of the Vidyalaya also attended the event. Teacher of the Vidyalaya Paki Huyam spoke about NEP 2020.
Speaking at the event, ZEO Kakching Yengkhom Achouba said that the new education policy has various new features which will help the students in many ways. He stressed the need for the teachers to discover the hidden talents from the students and guide them to the right path. He added that initiatives have been taken up in search of brilliant students for the government schools in Kakching District level after the implementation of NEP in the state. He also mentioned that the selected students will be up for state level competitions and they will be shaped for a better future.
Speaking to the media, Principal Moirangthem Nabamani said that NEP 2020 has been fully implemented in JNV Sandumba Achouba Umathel Kakching district as it has been recognised as a model school. He added that the 3rd anniversary is being celebrated as per the advice from the Ministry of Education, Government of India for completing three years on the implementation.
He appreciated the district administration, zonal education officers and teachers of Kakching district for their help in following the NEP 2020 guidelines.
He announced that Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Sandumba Achouba has bagged the all-India topper position in both class X and XII exam. He also expressed contentment that the JNV securing the top position in both the classes is the first time for the Shillong region.
