Free education for displaced students in Bishnupur

"As many as 2,117 students from Bishnupur district and 130 displaced students from other districts have been provided free education under the state government’s initiative till date."

Zonal Education Officer of Bishnupur Nongthombam Chingkhei on Monday declared that free education up to Class 12 will be provided to the displaced students of the district, who are seeking refuge at various relief camps.

He stated the same during the distribution of relief material to inmates of Moirang College Relief Centre by a team of Aided and Government teachers of Bishnupur District under ZEO Zone 4 called Relief Help Committee members.

Chingkhei said that as many as 2,117 students from Bishnupur District and 130 displaced students from other districts have been provided free education under the state government’s initiative till date. He assured that the education department is committed to ensuring the welfare of all the students.

Efforts are also being made to provide stationery, school bags, sports items and essential commodities to the displaced students whose homes were burnt or destroyed. This holistic approach underscores the commitment to education and well-being during such a critical juncture.
