Education minister visits special exam centre for Manipur students from Mangalore University

Manipur Education Minister Dr Th Radheshyam informed that the examinations are also being conducted offline.

Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam on Wednesday visited the special examination centre arranged by the state government for students appearing in examinations conducted by the Mangalore University at the Manipur International University, administrative headquarter, Ghari.

Around 60 students from different colleges affiliated to Mangalore University will be appearing in the final year examinations of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Fifteen students appeared on the first day of the examination on Wednesday.

Radheshyam said that the special arrangement of examination centre for the students of the state pursuing their education at the various affiliated colleges and departments of Mangalore University was made due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The students were facing difficulties due to restrictions and were unable to appear for the examinations in Karnataka.

The education minister also informed that the examinations are being conducted offline and that the examination questions were digitally sent by the university on the same day and the questions were accessed with a unique code after download.

The examinations, which commenced from September 16, will be held till October 13. Necessary SOPs for safe conduct of the examinations are strictly followed as directed by the government maintaining physical distance in the examination rooms.

Mangalore University is one of the prestigious universities in Karnataka. Many prominent institutions, including Alva’s College, Moodbidri, Vivekananda College, Puttur, Shree Devi College, Mangalore, Sharada College, Mangalore and others are affiliated to Mangalore University.

The minister also informed that a consultation meeting with the students’ representatives of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) was held yesterday the September 15 on the modalities of the ensuing examinations. It was attended by the vice-chancellor, registrar, principals, teachers and officials concerned.
