The three-day Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2022, District level training for Chandel District of Manipur started on Friday in Chakpikarong and will end on Sunday.
The ASER 2022 Survey of Chandel district is being conducted in collaboration with Chakpi Young Minds (CYM) and Pratham. The survey will be conducted with the 2011 census as the base year.
The training is led by ASER state team Keisham Kishan Singh, ASER associate and WL Jonah Ningtung Anal as the Master trainer of the district.
ASER 2022 survey will focus on the learning outcomes of children between the age group of 3-16 years to assess the loss during the pandemic. Altogether 16 individuals from Chandel district have volunteered for the survey.
The volunteers will conduct household surveys and assess children between 3-16 year of age on their foundation learning level- basic arithmetic, reading and English reading, etc. They will also pilot surveys in two villages before they start surveying in the 30 villages of the district.
Morning Anal, a member of Chakpi Young Minds (CYM) hopes the ASER 2022 survey will help in understanding the ground reality of the learning age group i.e. 3-16 years after the COVID 19 pandemic.
