The Churachandpur Government College was conferred with the Certificate of Recommendation under the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), team category of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) during a state level college teachers’ award held at Imphal on Monday.
Churachandpur Government College principal Siamkhum Guite said that the award was presented by director of Education (U) Rangitabali Waikhom during the state level college teachers’ award, in the presence of the Education minister.
The award was presented after the IQAC team inspected the academics and infrastructure of the different departments of the college, he added.
He lauded the IQAC coordinator of the college assistant professor Pauchungnung and the staff for their collective efforts in making the achievement possible.
He mentioned that the college had been graded as grade B in the NAAC assessment. He added that staff and authorities of the college will be working to achieve grade A in the next NAAC assessment which will be held after five years.
IQAC coordinator of Churachandpur Government College assistant professor Pauchungnung extended appreciation to the Education Directorate for presenting the award along with the cash reward of Rs 50,000.
He also recalled that he and his team had to compile the documents of the college from the last five years, as demanded by the NAAC. The college was established in 1964 and was the lone college in the district.
