All Manipur recognised Private Schools Welfare Association on Sunday appealed to the state government to repeal its order and allow admission of students in the schools for the present academic session.
The association was reacting to the order of the Education(s) dated January 20 which directed all the school authorities in the state to stop the process for admission to new academic sessions for all classes.
The association cited five reasons the admission of students should be allowed in a memorandum submitted to the education minister. It stated that the admission should be allowed since the state government has already directed the schools to start the academic session from January.
A scholastic year ends in 12 months and the academic session of 2020 has already ended in the December, it further stated while adding completing the admission process two-three months ahead before any competent examination is practiced all over the country.
The admission fees of the students are utilised in payment of teachers’ salary, school maintenance and for buying other necessary materials of the schools, the memorandum stated.
It stated that even BOSEM will be printing the number of books based on the number of students’ enrolment in the schools. Books for Pre nursery, nursery, KG are produced from outside the state based on the number of students, and the school uniforms are also manufactured based on the number of students.
