Tripura's COVID-19 active tally drops to 120, lowest among all states in Northeast India

India's cumulative single-day COVID-19 positive cases on Thursday pushed the country's confirmed caseload to 4,27,54,315, while the death toll mounted to 5,10,413.

Tripura's cumulative COVID-19 active case tally dropped to 120, lowest among all states in Northeast India on Thursday. It reported four new positive cases in the last 24 hours, as per the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

Mizoram continued to report the highest COVID-19 active caseload among all states in Northeast India with 11,344 total cases, followed by Assam with 2,855 total cases, and Manipur with the tally dropping to 2,144 cases as of Thursday.

The COVID-19 active caseload of Meghalaya is 550, Arunachal 421, Nagaland 367, and Sikkim has 249 total active cases as of Thursday, according to the latest updates.

Meanwhile, India's cumulative single-day COVID-19 positive cases on Thursday stood at 30,757. It pushed the country's confirmed caseload to 4,27,54,315. The death toll mounted to 5,10,413, with 541 more fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.

A total of 67,538 patients recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,19,10,984. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.03 per cent.

India’s COVID-19 Active Caseload presently is 3,32,918, which accounts for 0.78 per cent of the country's total positive cases. Maharashtra's active caseload falls to 31,424, second highest among all states and UTs in the country, with Kerala reporting the highest active caseload of 1,14,582.

The release from the Health minister also stated that the last 24 hours saw a total of 11,79,705 tests being conducted across the country. India has so far conducted 75,55,32,460 cumulative tests.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, the Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 3.04 per cent and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 2.61 per cent.

With the administration of more than 34.75 lakh (34,75,951) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 174.24 Cr (1,74,24,36,288) as per provisional reports till 7 am on Thursday. And, 1,82,25,274 total precaution doses have been administered so far across the country.
