Tripura COVID-19 active cases fall to 26, lowest among all states in Northeast India

According to the Union Health Ministry, Tripura's total COVID-19 recoveries reached 99,914 as six more patients recovered from the infection on Monday.

Tripura's COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 1,00,860 and the death toll remained static at 919 for the past few days, while its active caseload dropped to 26 on Monday, lowest among all states in Northeast India, official sources said.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the state's total COVID-19 recoveries reached 99,914 as six more patients recovered from the infection on Monday. 

Sikkim today has second lowest COVID-19 active caseload of 59, while its confirmed positive caseload reached 39,064 so far. Sikkim's confirmed caseload has exceeded that of Nagaland's 35,402 confirmed cases so far.

Meanwhile, the country reported total 8,013 new cases, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The new positive cases pushed the total COVID-19 confirmed cases to 4,29,24,130, while the death toll mounted to 5,13,843 with 119 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

A total of 16,765 patients recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) stood at 4,23,07,686 as of Monday.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate moved to 98.56 per cent.

India’s Active Caseload presently is 1,02,601. Active cases constitute 0.24 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

Maharashtra's active caseload falls to 11,225, while that of Kerala stood at 30,745, highest among all states and Union territories in India.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 7,23,828 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 76.74 Cr (76,74,81,346) cumulative tests.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.17 per cent and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 1.11 per cent.

With the administration of nearly 5 lakh (4,90,321) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 177.50 Cr (1,77,50,86,335) as per provisional reports till 7 am on Monday.
