Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday went into self-isolation after her husband Robert Vadra tested positive for coronavirus. However, Priyanka Gandhi has tested negative for the viral infection, sources said.
The Congress leader has cancelled her campaign schedule for the next three days, in Assam, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
In a video on Twitter, the 49-year-old Congress leader apologised to people for being unable to take part in the election campaigns.

Unfortunately I have to cancel the programme that was scheduled for me for the Assam campaign today, for Tamil Nadu tomorrow and Kerala day after tomorrow. I would like to apologise to everybody for not being able to be there. I wish all the candidates that I was supposed to campaign for the very, very best in the election. I hope all of you do well and the Congress is victorious," the Congress leader said in the 41-second video.
Earlier in the day, Robert Vadra informed that he tested positive for COVID-19.
"Unfortunately, I came into contact with someone COVID positive and have tested positive for COVID although I am asymptomatic so far. As per the COVID guidelines, Priyanka and I are self-isolating although she has tested negative,” Vadra said in a Facebook post.
"Fortunately the kids have not been with us these days and everyone else at home has tested negative too. Hopefully, we will all be back to normal life soon," Vadra added.
