Nagaland COVID-19 tally reaches 2405; Dimapur reports 187 new positive cases

The total number of active and recovered cases in the state is now 1740 and 657 respectively.

COVID-19 situation in Nagaland is alarmingly grim as the state reported as many as 276 new COVID-19 positive cases on Tuesday, pushing the tally to 2405 positive cases in total.

Of the new positive cases, 187 are from Dimapur alone, while 89 new cases are from Mon district.

“Necessary contact tracing has been activated and all primary contacts are under self-isolation,” state Health Minister Pangnyu Phom said.

The total number of active and recovered cases in the state is now 1740 and 657 respectively.

Meanwhile, the Dimapur district administration, in an order, has cautioned any individual or organization against issuing unwarranted directives/statements obstructing entry of healthcare workers into their wards and colonies after performing their duties.

“Support and cooperation is required from all ends in the fight against COVID-19,” the order stated.

The order also cautioned that issuing such unwarranted directives/statements which infringes on individual rights and in violation of government orders will be liable to be punished under Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
