Mizoram logs 226 new COVID-19 cases

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Mizoram rose to 1,096 on Friday.

Mizoram logged 226 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the state's tally to 2,34,926, official sources said on Friday. The state's daily positivity rate was recorded at 25.36 per cent.

With the addition of the new positive cases, the number of active cases rose to 1,096, the state Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) said in a tweet.

The new positive cases include 61 from Lunglei, 37 from Siaha, 36 from Aizawl, 25 from Saitual, 16 each from Champhai and Khawzawl, 14 from Serchhip, 10 from Mamit, eight from Kolasib and three from Hnahthial, as per the update.

No new recovery or death was reported in the state on Thursday.

Of the cumulative confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mizoram, a total of 2,33,115 have recovered from the infection while 715 have so far died of COVID-19.
