As many as 380 more people tested positive for COVID-19 of the 2,724 test results recieved in Manipur on Tuesday, with Imphal West reporting the highest number of new cases, while no deaths were reported, official sources said.
Of the new cases, eight were personnel of the Central Armed Police Force, 151 new positive cases were from Imphal West, 80 from Imphal East, 73 from Churachandpur, 24 Kangpokpi, 16 each from Bishnupur and Thoubal, seven from Ukhrul, three each from Noney and Kakching, two each from Chandel, Senapati and Tamenglong, and one from Tengnoupal.
The new cases pushed the state's total COVID-19 confirmed cases to 1,27,873, while the death toll remained 2015 as of Tuesday. The total COVID-19 active cases rose to 1,791, while the total recoveries reached 1,24,067 as 46 more people recovered from the disease, according to the latest update by the state Health Services.
The recovery rate currently is 97.02 per cent as per the latest update.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing of the positive cases are in place, a release from the Common Covid-19 Control Room stated.
The total number of people who have been administered the COVID vaccine reached 23,95,965 (first dose: 13,66,300, second dose: 10,21,743 and precautionary dose: 7,922).
As of January 17, a total of 332 D-type oxygen cylinders and 42 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours, the release added.
Meanwhile, air passengers who travelled to the state on January 14 by AI 715 in seat No 17-24 and 6E-6014 in seat No 13 to 31 have been asked to inform the Common Covid-19 Control Room 1800343818 or respected district surveillance officers.
