Manipur's COVID-19 death toll rose to 2,124 as the viral infection claimed two more lives in the state. The two COVID-19 deaths reported in Manipur on Thursday were from Kakching and Thoubal. Both deceased had comorbidites. While one was vaccinated with the first dose, the other was vaccinated with both doses of COVID vaccine, according to the latest update by the state health department.
Manipur also recorded 89 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, pushing the state's tally to 1,38,310. The day's positivity rate is 8.3 per cent.
Among the new COVID-19 cases, 45 were from Imphal West, 16 from Imphal East, seven each from Churachandpur and Thoubal, four from Kamjong, three each from Bishnupur and Chandel, two from Senapati, and one each from Kakching, and Ukhrul.
As per the update, a total of 1,070 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur on Thursday. Manipur has so far conducted 16,24,026 COVID-19 tests.
The state also recorded 84 new COVID-19 recoveries increasing the number of recovered cases to 1,35,559 and the recovery rate is 98.1 per cent. Manipur now has 627 COVID-19 active cases, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Meanwhile, a total of 24 D-type oxygen cylinders and eight B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of July 20.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 30,42,010 (first dose: 16,05,916 second dose: 12,77,003 and precautionary dose: 1,59,091).
The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.11 per cent and for the second dose is 53.67 per cent, it mentioned.
