Kalapahar, Santolabari Parsain become first fully vaccinated villages in Manipur's Kangpokpi district

All eligible persons in 540 households under Kalapahar comprising five villages were already vaccinated up to the second dose while all eligible persons in 370 households under Santolabari Parsain comprising eight villages were also vaccinated up to the second dose.

Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain under Kangpokpi assembly constituency became the first villages to get fully vaccinated in Kangpokpi district and the third in Manipur after Robve Solephe village in Senapati and Pearsonmun village in Churachandpur district.

All eligible persons in 540 households under Kalapahar comprising five villages were already vaccinated up to the second dose while all eligible persons in 370 households under Santolabari Parsain comprising eight villages were also vaccinated up to the second dose.

The declaration of Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain as fully vaccinated villages was made on Thursday by the MLA Nemcha Kipgen in the presence of deputy commissioner Kangpokpi Somorjit Salam; MO PHC Kalapahar Dr Pilhing; community health officer, Santolabari Parsain Kimneilam Kipgen; vaccination in-charge of the district Thangtinlen Khongsai and PHC Kalapahar Dr Thangboi, apart from Covid task force Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain area.

Extensive vaccination drive had been carried in the past few months in Kalapahar and Santolabari area under MO PHC Kalapahar Dr Pilhing and community health officer, Santolabari and Parsain Kimneilam Kipgen, in collaboration with the Covid task force of Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain under the initiative of MLA Nemcha Kipgen.

MLA Nemcha Kipgen said that to get all the eligible people under Kangpokpi assembly constituency vaccinated, extensive efforts and struggles have been exerted while seven Covid task forces had been constituted to work together with the medical department and the district administration.

She continued that their hard work and sleepless effort have now been paid fruitfully by getting all eligible persons in Kalapahar covering five villages and Santolabari Parsain covering eight villages fully vaccinated up to the second dose.

Lauding the commitment and dedication of the medical team led by Dr Pilhing and Kimneilam Kipgen, she also appreciated and acknowledged the contributions and struggles of the Covid task force Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain in getting the achievement.

She urged the remaining people to get vaccinated as it has become the only tool to overcome the dreaded pandemic COVID-19. She further appealed to all the other five Covid task forces to expedite the awareness on vaccination and get the villages under their area fully vaccinated at the earliest.

Kangpokpi DC Somorjit Salam while lauding the contribution of the people of Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain in getting the achievement of the fully vaccinated village, appreciated the dedication and hard work of the medical team and Covid task force Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain.

He said that Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain were the first villages seeking vaccination among few others when hesitation for vaccination was at its peak among the people and their enthusiasm for vaccination has now paid fruitfully and we are proud of them.

He said that Charhajare village in Saitu assembly constituency will also be soon declared as a fully vaccinated village while adding that all these villages will be an inspiration for all other villages to get vaccinated.
