India's single day COVID-19 positive tally drops to 5,439

India's single day COVID-19 positive tally dropped to 5,439 and the active caseload declined to 65,732, official sources said on Tuesday.

According to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry, the active caseload accounted for 0.15 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

The country's recovery rate stood at 98.66 per cent. A total of 22,031 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,38,25,024.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 3,20,418 COVID-19 tests were conducted. India has so far conducted over 88.55 Cr (88,55,28,970) cumulative tests.

Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently is 2.64 per cent and the Daily Positivity Rate is reported to be 1.70 per cent on Tuesday.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage reached 2,12,17,41,962 as per provisional reports till 7 am Tuesday. This has been achieved through 2,82,59,616 sessions, the Union Health Ministry said in a release.

Over 4.02 crore first vaccine doses have been administered to children in the age group 12-14 years, while 15,66,49,800 total the ministrprecaution vaccine doses have been administered, the release added.
