India's single-day COVID-19 death toll drops to seven

The country's COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 4,46,36,520, while the death toll increased to 5,28,943.

India's single-day COVID-19 death toll drops to seven, while 2,141 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from across the country, official sources said.

Consequently, the country's COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 4,46,36,520, while the death toll increased to 5,28,943.

India’s recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent, as 2,579 more patients have recovered and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now 4,40,82,064.

So far, India has conducted 89,94,39,208 cumulative tests. Its weekly positivity rate currently stands at 0.97 per cent and the daily positivity rate is reported to be 0.85 pre cent.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,19,46,34,236 as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years, which was started on March 16, 2022, so far has covered 4,11,94,276 adolescents with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
