India’s daily COVID-19 caseload remains below 20000-mark

The total COVID-19 positive confirmed caseload reached 3,40,20,730, while the death toll mounted to 4,51,435 with the report of 246 more fatalities in India.

India’s daily COVID-19 caseload remained below 20000-mark at 18,987 on Thursday, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

The total COVID-19 active caseload fell to 2,06,586; lowest in 215 days. The total number of active cases account for less than one per cent of the total cases, currently at 0.61 per cent, lowest since March 2020.

The total COVID-19 positive confirmed caseload reached 3,40,20,730, while the death toll mounted to 4,51,435 with the report of 246 more fatalities.

With a total of 19,808 more recoveries, the total number of recoveries increased to 3,33,62,709. With it, the recovery rate currently is 98.07 per cent, highest since March 2020.

The weekly positivity rate (1.44%) remained less than three per cent for the last 111 days, while the daily positivity rate (1.46%) fell below three per cent for the last 45 days.

Meanwhile, over 58.76 crore total tests have been conducted and over 96.82 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

The vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain, the Union Health Ministry stated in a release.

The ministry stated that 98,88,80,235 total vaccine doses have been supplied to States and UTs in the country.
