India's COVID-19 confirmed caseload reaches 4,30,16,372, death toll climbs to 5,16,755

Following a continuous downward trend, India’s COVID-19 active caseload has declined to 21,530 on Friday. It constituted 0.05 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

India on Friday reported a total of 1,685 new COVID-19 cases and 83 deaths. With it, the country's COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 4,30,16,372, while the death toll mounted to 5,16,755,

There has been a sustained fall in the weekly and daily positivity rates. The weekly positivity rate in the country stood at 0.33 per cent and the daily positivity rate was reported to be 0.24 per cent as of Friday.

Following a continuous downward trend, India’s COVID-19 active caseload has declined to 21,530 on Friday. It constituted 0.05 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate moved to 98.75 per cent, as 2,499 total patients recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now 4,24,78,087.

So far, the country has conducted over 78.56 Cr (78,56,44,225) cumulative tests. The country recieved results of 6,91,425 more COVID-19 tests on Friday morning.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage under the Nationwide vaccination drive has exceeded 182.55 Cr (1,82,55,75,126) as per provisional reports till 7 am on Friday. So far, more than 90 lakh (90,06,782) children in the age group 12-14 years have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. As many as 2,22,62,588 beneficiaries have been administered the precaution dose across the country as of Friday.

Dadra And Nagar Haveli And Daman And Diu and Lakshdweep today have zero COVID-19 active cases. Tripura which had been reporting zero COVID-19 active cases for the past few days reported one active case on Thursday.

Currently, COVID-19 active caseload in Kerala has dropped to 5,629, still the second highest active caseload among all state and UTs, as Maharashtra's active caseload is reported at 4,970 as of Friday.

In Northeast India, Assam continued to report the highest number of COVID-19 active caseload of 1,363, while Mizoram's active caseload moved to 1,292 as of Friday. Manipur, meanwhile, has 81 COVID-19 active caseload.
