India's COVID-19 active cases mounts to 15,50,377, Omicron cases rise to 7,743

India's total COVID-19 confirmed cases reached 3,71,22,164, while the death toll mounted to 4,86,066 as of Sunday.

India on Sunday reported 2,71,202 new cases. And 7,743 total Omicron cases were detected so far; an increase of 28.17 per cent since Saturday. Consequently, the daily positivity rate stood at 16.28 per cent while the weekly positivity rate reached 13.69 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The country's total COVID-19 confirmed cases reached 3,71,22,164, while the death toll mounted to 4,86,066 with 314 more deaths reported due to the disease.

India's COVID-19 active caseload rose to 15,50,377. The active caseload now stands at 4.18 per cent.

The recovery rate currently is at 94.51 per cent as a total of 1,38,331 more recoveries were reported on Sunday. With it, the total recoveries reached 3,50,85,721.

So far, 70.24 crore total tests have been conducted across the country, with 16,65,404 more tests conducted in a span of 24 hours. And 156.76 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, according to the Health and Family Welfare Ministry, over 158 crore (1,58,01,46,015) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through the Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.

More than 14.13 Cr (14,13,44,641) balance and unutilised COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the states/UTs to be administered.
