India's active COVID-19 caseload drops to 7,034

India recorded 656 new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths in 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated on Friday.

India's active COVID-19 caseload on Friday dropped to 7,034 while 656 new positive cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the country's tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,46,67,967, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.

The active cases comprise 0.02 per cent of the total positive cases.

The country also recorded seven more fatalities, including two deaths reconciled by Kerala, pushing the death toll 5,30,553, as per the data updated by the ministry at 8 am.

The cumulative number of recovered cases increased to 4,41,30,380 with 790 new recoveries. India's COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.80 per cent while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 per cent, according to the ministry website.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,19,84,61,828, as per the ministry.
