India reports highest COVID-19 recovery rate in last eight months

India reported 19,446 more recoveries from COVID-19 that pushed the total number of recoveries to 3,34,78,247 as of Wednesday.

India witnessed highest COVID-19 recovery rate of 98.15 per cent, since March 2020 as it reported 19,446 more recoveries that pushed the total number of recoveries to 3,34,78,247 as of Wednesday, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

The country, meanwhile, reported 14,623 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of active cases to 1,78,098; lowest in 229 days. The total active cases account for less than one per cent of the total confirmed cases, currently at 0.52 per cent; lowest since March 2020.

The Weekly Positivity Rate (1.34%) remained below three per cent for the last 117 days, while the Daily Positivity Rate (1.10%) remained less than three per cent for the last 51 days

So far, over 59.44 cr total tests for COVID-19 have been conducted and over 99.12 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

A total of 90,98,715 healthcare workers across the country and a total of 1,55,81,720 frontline workers have been fully vaccinated as of Wednesday.
