India reports daily spike of 3,614 COVID-19 positive cases, 89 deaths

Maharashtra, which has the highest COVID-19 confirmed caseload, reported total active cases of 6,928, while Delhi's active caseload remained below 1,000 at 860.

As India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed 179.89 crore (179,89,47,302) on Saturday, the country’s daily COVID-19 positive cases dropped to 3,614, and the day’s fatalities was also reduced to 89. Following it, the country’s COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 4,29,87,875, while the death toll climbed to 5,15,803, according to official sources.

A total of 16,14,169 vaccine doses were administered till 7 pm Friday. Over 2.11 crore (2,11,43,851) Precaution Doses for the identified categories of beneficiaries (HCWs, FLWs and Over 60 years) for COVID vaccination have been administered so far.

Meanwhile, the cumulative number of COVID-19 recoveries reached 4,24,31,513 as of Saturday, as 5,185 more patients recovered from the infection.

So far, 77,77,58,414 samples have been tested for COVID-19 across the country.

Maharashtra, which has the highest COVID-19 confirmed caseload, reported a huge drop in the total active cases to 6,928, while Delhi's active caseload remained below 1,000 at 860. Kerala, which in the third wave of the pandemic has been reporting the highest number of active cases among all states and UT, currently has 11,330 active caseload.
