India logs 5,910 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

India has 53,974 active COVID-19 cases, constituting 0.12 per cent of the country's total positive cases, as of Monday.

India's COVID-19 tally on Monday reached 4,44,62,445 with the addition of  5,910 new cases in the last 24 hours while the death toll surged to 5,28,007 with nine more deaths, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

As per the update, India has 53,974 active COVID-19 cases, constituting 0.12 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

India also recorded 7,034 new COVID-19 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 4,38,80,464 and the recovery rate is 98.69 per cent, as of Monday.

As many as 88,73,79,274 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in India, including 2,27,313 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, as per the Health Ministry.

While the weekly positivity rate in the country was recorded at 2.15 per cent, the daily positivity rate was reported to be 2.60 per cent, the ministry added.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,13,52,74,945, including 16,82,83,660 precaution doses.
