India logs 1,112 new COVID-19 cases, one death in 24 hours

The number of active cases stands at 20,821 on Thursday. Active cases constitute 0.5 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the Health Ministry said.

India recorded 1,112 new COVID-19 cases and one death in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.

The number of active cases stands at 20,821 on Thursday. Active cases constitute 0.5 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the Health Ministry said.

The death toll climbed to 5,28,987, while the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country reached 4,46,46,880.

The cumulative number of recovered cases increased to 4,40,97,072 with 1,892 new recoveries. The recovery rate is 98.77 per cent as onThursday.

As many as 90,04,17,092 COVID-19 tests have so far been conducted in India, including 1,44,491 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, as per the Health Ministry.

While the weekly positivity rate in the country was recorded at 1.06 per cent, the daily positivity rate was reported to be 0.77 per cent, the ministry added.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,19,58,84,786, including 22,05,08,220 precaution doses.
