India COVID-19 Update: 406 new cases, 12 more deaths

India recorded 406 new COVID-19 cases and 12 more deaths, taking the country's tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,46,69,421 and death toll to 5,30,586, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.

Of the 12 fatalities recorded on Monday, 11 deaths were reconciled by Kerala while one death was reported from Rajasthan in the last 24 hours, the data updated by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am stated.

The number of active COVID-19 cases dropped to 6,402, which comprised 0.01 per cent of the total positive cases.

The country also recorded 481 new COVID-19 recoveries, pushing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 4,41,32,433. While the COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.80 per cent, the case fatality rate was recorded to be at1.19 per cent, according to the ministry website.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,19,86,38,566, as per the ministry.
