India COVID-19 Update: 2,756 new cases, 21 deaths in 24 hours

The weekly positivity rate in the country was recorded at 1.28 per cent, the daily positivity rate was reported to be 1.15 per cent.

India recorded 2,756 new COVID-19 cases and 21 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.

The number of active cases stands at 28,593 on Sunday. Active cases constitute 0.6 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the Health Ministry said.

The death toll climbed to 55,28,799, while the cumulative number of recovered cases increased to 4,40,54,621 with 3,393 new recoveries. The recovery rate is 98.75 per cent as on Sunday.

As many as 89,69,87,772 COVID-19 tests have so far been conducted in India, including 2,39,546 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, as per the Health Ministry.

While the weekly positivity rate in the country was recorded at 1.28 per cent, the daily positivity rate was reported to be 1.15 per cent, the ministry added.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,18,97,88,104, including 21,57,97,935 precaution doses.
