Day after zero COVID-19, five new cases detected in Manipur

Manipur's COVID-19 death toll remained static at 2,120 as the state continued to report no COVID-related deaths, while the positive caseload climbed to 1,37,210 as of Saturday.

Barely a day after it reported zero Covid-19 cases, Manipur reported 1.6 positivity rate with the detection of five new positive cases on Saturday, taking the total confirmed caseload to 1,37,210 according to official sources.

The state's COVID-19 death toll remained static at 2,120 as the state continued to report no COVID-related deaths.

According to a release issued by the State COVID-19 Common Control Room, of the five COVID-19 cases reported on Saturday, two were reported from Imphal West and one each from Bishnupur, Imphal East and Kangpokpi.

The state also reported four new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,35,063. The recovery rate is 98.44 per cent. Manipur now has 27 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 156 Oxygen Cylinders and nine B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 28,26,888 (first dose: 15,53,373 second dose: 11,97,578 precautionary dose: 75,937).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.64 per cent and for the second dose is 51.13 per cent, it mentioned.
