COVID vaccine first dose administered to over 3.88 crore 12-14 years children

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years, which started on March 16, 2022, has covered 38,869,424 children with the first dose of the vaccine as of Friday.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 203.60 Cr (2,03,60,46,307) as per provisional reports till 7 am Friday. This has been achieved through 2,69,13,617 sessions, the Union Health Ministry said.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years, which started on March 16, 2022, has covered 38,869,424 children with the first dose of the vaccine as of Friday.

Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started on April 10, 2022. So far, it has covered 8,45,53,901 beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 Active Caseload stood at 1,43,988, with the report of 20,409 new cases, as per the latest update. Active cases now constitute 0.33 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.48 per cent. 22,697 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,33,09,484.

The last more than 24 hours saw a total of 3,98,761 COVID-19 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted 87,44,06,798 cumulative tests.

Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 4.82 per cent and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 5.12 per cent.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 has claimed 5,26,211 lives as of Friday. The death toll on Thursday was 44. West Bengal has the highest number of COVID-19 active caseload in the country with 20,094 case, while the active caseload in Kerala is now 17,802, according to official sources.
