COVID-19 positive patient found hanging in Imphal West

Lataleima was kept at Covid Care Centre, Lamboi khongnangkhong after testing positive for Covid and returned home for home quarantine before she was found hanging.

A woman who had been tested positive for COVID-19 was found hanging at Heibok Ching under Wangoi Police Station in Imphal West district on Sunday, sources said.

The deceased has been identified as one 42-year-old Kshetrimayum ongbi Lataleima, wife of Ksh Sunder of Narankonjin Mayai Leikai, Imphal West. She is survived by her husband, two sons and two daughters.

As per her family members, Lataleima was lodged at Covid Care Centre, Lamboi khongnangkhong after testing positive for Covid and discharged to be kept under home quarantine on September 20.

After returning home, she went missing the same day and was later found the following day around 5 am at Heibok Ching.

She again went missing in the morning of September 23 and was found hanging at Heibok Ching on Sunday.

A case has been registered by Wangoi Police Station in connection with the incident. On conducting Covid test on her body, she was found to be positive.

After conducting a post mortem at RIMS, her body was handed over to her family on Monday, the sources said.
