Manipur's COVID-19 death toll rose to 2,122 as the viral infection claimed one more life in the state. The single COVID-19 death reported in Manipur on Tuesday was from Kakching district who had no comorbidities and was not vaccinated, according to the latest update by the state health department.
Manipur also recorded 90 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, pushing the state's tally to 1,38,123. The day's positivity rate is 9.9 per cent.
Among the new COVID-19 cases, 51 were from Imphal West, 20 from Imphal East, seven from Bishnupur, five from Ukhrul, two from Thoubal, and one each from Churachandpur, Kakching, Noney, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal.
As per the update, a total of 911 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur on Tuesday. Manipur has so far conducted 16,21,934 COVID-19 tests.
The state also recorded 50 new COVID-19 recoveries increasing the number of recovered cases to 1,35,425 and the recovery rate is 98.5 per cent. Manipur now has 576 COVID-19 active cases, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Meanwhile, a total of 86 D-type oxygen cylinders and 26 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of July 18.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 30,22,243 (first dose: 16,04,382 second dose: 12,74,192 and precautionary dose: 1,43,669).
The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.8 per cent and for the second dose is 53.59 per cent, it mentioned.
