Manipur on Friday recorded 732 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's caseload to 47,843, while the death toll reached 761 with 13 more fatalities in a span of 24 hours, the state health department said.
While Imphal East and Imphal West reported four deaths each, two deaths each were from Bishnupur and Thoubal, and one death from Ukhrul district.
The new COVID-19 positive cases included 731 from the general population and one personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
Imphal West continued to report the highest number of daily cases at 213, followed by Imphal east at 170 and Thoubal at 83. The other new COVID-19 positive cases included 73 from Bishnupur, 64 from Kakching, 62 from Churachandpur, 19 each from Ukhrul and Kangpokpi, six each from Tamenglong and Pherzawl, five from Senapati, four from Chandel, three each from Jiribam and Noney, and one from Tengnoupal, the release stated.
Meanwhile, 579 new recoveries pushed the state's cumulative number of recovered cases to 39,480. The recovery rate is 82.51 per cent, while the number of COVID-19 active cases stood at 7,602, it stated.
It further stated that a total of 1,580 D type oxygen cylinders and 592 B type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of the state.
A total of 3,70,500 people have been administered COVID-19 vaccine in Manipur, as per the latest update.
