Three states in Northeast India - Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland - continued to report no new COVID-19 case nor COVID-19 death on Monday, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.
While Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland has been reporting zero COVID-19 active cases for the last few days, Manipur reported no new positive cases for the third straight day on Sunday.
In case of Manipur, COVID-19 confirmed caseload remained at 1,37,220 and the death toll at 2,120 with zero new fatality since March 18. The number of recovered cases reached 1,35,086. The recovery rate is 98.44 per cent. The state now has 15 COVID-19 active cases.
Arunachal Pradesh's COVID-19 confirmed caseload stood at 64,495 and its death toll at 296, while its recovered cases reached 64,199.
Nagaland's COVID-19 confirmed caseload remained 35,488, while 34,728 persons have recovered so far. Its death toll stood at 760.
Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 active caseload currently stood at 19,500 as of Monday and active cases now constitute 0.05 per cent of the country's total positive cases, according to official sources.
According to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry, a total of 3,157 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported on Monday. Consequently, the daily positivity rate is reported to be 1.07 per cent and the weekly positivity rate in the country stood at 0.70 per cent.
The country's total COVID-19 caseload reached 4,30,82,345, while the death toll reached 5,23,869 with 26 more fatalities. The recovery rate stood at 98.74 per cent. 2,723 more patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,25,38,976.
