Advocacy programme on COVID-19 vaccination held in Churachandpur

The advocacy programme was organised concerning the reluctance of healthcare workers to get vaccinated for COVID-19.

Advocacy programme on COVID-19 vaccination for Singat health block was held on Friday at Synod Hall, IB road.

The programme was led by WHO consultant Dr Vasti with healthcare workers, which included medical officers, nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, BPMU staff, ASHA and ASHA's facilitators and ICDS staff under one CHC and three PHC of the block.

The advocacy programme was organised concerning the reluctance of healthcare workers to get vaccinated for COVID-19. However, the vaccination drive for the healthcare workers continued and it was held at CMO conference hall on Friday. As reported by the CMO, so far, 46.71 per cent of the healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the district which was the 9th Session of the vaccination programme. Altogether, 370 have been vaccinated, out of 792 healthcare workers.

It may be mentioned that CMO of Churachandpur, Dr Vumchinpau Tonsing had issued strict warning that the healthcare workers whose names are in the list for COVID-19 vaccination but did not report for vaccination will not be tolerated. The vaccination is in accordance with their consent or willingness but absence for no reason is not allowed, he added.
