Manipur has reported 83 new COVId-19 positive cases that pushed the state's confirmed caseload to 1,36,322, while the death toll mounted to 2,092 as two more patients died in the last 24 hours, according to the latest update by the state Health department on Friday.

The two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Friday are from Imphal West and Bishnupur respectively. Both the deceased had co-morbidities. Of them, one was vaccinated with the first dose while one was not vaccinated, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

As per the release, 30 new COVID-19 cases were reported from Imphal West, another 17 cases from Imphal East, six from Ukhrul, five each from Bishnupur and Kakching, four from Thoubal, three each from Kangpokpi, Noney, Chandel and Tamenglong, two each from Senapati and Churachandpur.

A total of 103 patients were discharged on Friday. However, due to various reasons 1,385 persons were reported as discharged cases only on Friday. Therefore, the total number of recovered cases is considered ad 1,488 after reconciliation with reports from IDSP team, Home Isolation team, and hospitalisation team. With these new recoveries, the cumulative number of recovered cases surged to 1,33,543. The recovery rate is 96.96 per cent. Manipur now has 687 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 256 D-type oxygen cylinders and 99 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine reached 26,55,355 (first dose: 14,94,032 second dose: 11,07,431 precautionary dose: 53,892) as of Friday.

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 60.50 per cent and for the second dose is 47.31 per cent, it mentioned.
