Manipur on Friday reported 17 new COVID-19 cases taking the state's tally to 1,39,671, while the death toll remained 2,146 with no new cases of fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, official sources said. The day's positivity rate is 3.2 per cent.
As many as 16,45,830 COVID-19 tests have so far been conducted in the state. A total of 532 samples were tested on Friday.
Among the new positive cases, 10 were from Imphal West alone, three from Imphal East, two from Churachandpur and one each from Bishnupur and Kakching, according to a release issued by COVID-19 Common Control Room.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
The state also recorded 21 new COVID-19 recoveries, pushing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,37,439. Consequently, the number of active cases dropped to 86 from Thursday's 90 and the recovery rate is 98.40 per cent, as per the release.
As on August 25, a total of 34 D-type Oxygen cylinders and four B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur, it added.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 vaccination coverage in the state has reached 31,66,927 including 2,38,640 precaution doses.
